Things I wish I knew

Building a healthy relationship with yourself is one of the most important foundations for overall happiness and personal growth. From my own experiences, I’ve learned that embracing vulnerability is a powerful way to deepen self-awareness and foster genuine self-love. Society often tells us to hide our weaknesses, but opening up to our true feelings helps us understand ourselves better and live more authentically. One practice that helped me immensely was intentionally shifting my mindset from self-criticism to self-compassion. Instead of judging myself for mistakes or flaws, I began acknowledging them as a natural part of growth. Another insight I want to share is the importance of growth through love—not only the love we give others but also the love we show ourselves. Daily affirmations, reflective journaling, or simply spending quiet moments connecting with your inner thoughts can strengthen this relationship. Surrounding yourself with people who support and inspire you also reinforces a positive self-relationship. Finally, unfiltered self-expression is so liberating. When we stop filtering our true selves to fit expectations, we invite more authenticity and joy into our lives. This can be scary at first, but it leads to deeper connections and a more fulfilling life experience.
