Rating Everything I Ate in Kobe 🎌🍽️😋

1/2 Edited to

... Read moreKobe’s food scene is truly a treasure trove for any foodie, and trying the gyudon there was a standout experience for me. The gyudon I had at JAEON Dining No.5 in the Harbourland Umie Mall food court was filling and satisfying, though I rated it 6.5/10 because I was really hungry and the dish was decent but not extraordinary. What made the trip more special was exploring smaller food spots like Nishimura’s Coffee, known as the start of Japan’s coffee culture. Their hot origin blend with milk and coffee jelly was surprisingly delightful and scored a 7.5/10 for me. It perfectly complemented the savory dishes, enhancing the overall meal experience. A must-try is the iconic Kobe beef at Mouriya, where I enjoyed a round steak topped with garlic chips. The ribeye is recommended for a juicier bite, and I gave it a solid 7/10. It’s an unforgettable flavor that truly represents the premium quality Kobe offers. For something a bit different, I sampled plum meatball skewers at Takatori. They were tasty but felt a bit pricey due to additional appetizer charges and a minimum order quantity, so I gave them a 6/10. One highlight was the curry katsu from Tomita in Arima Onsen. The pork was lean, with just the right fat at the edges, and the vegetable cubes in the curry added a delightful texture. This dish scored a perfect 10/10, absolutely worth the visit. Finally, the street snacks like the egglet and tansan senbei provided sweet and crispy treats that paired perfectly with the cold weather and made the food journey even more memorable. Exploring Kobe through its varied flavors gave me a unique glimpse into the city's food culture, from humble gyudon bowls to luxurious beef cuts, and I highly recommend anyone visiting to dive into these culinary delights.
