In a world of social media full of perfect moms… I am here to tell you that I have my bad days too. Today I felt overwhelmed, everywhere I looked things were misplaced, there was dishes, clothes to be folded, my toddler crying non stop because I gave her the “wrong” granola (even though I gave her the one she asked for), my baby had a blowout… things were just chaotic and for a second a lost it and yelled asking everyone to stop for a second.
Yep. I screwed up. I saw how scared my toddler was, because I truly try never yelling. But it happened, I can’t change that. But I did change the follow up. I picked her up and immediately apologized, and explained that I was stressed and it wasn’t her fault. We were both crying. And 10 minutes later she told me she loved me, and asked if we could go play.
Honestly, this is hard to share because it is vulnerable, it is hard. But I am here to let you know that you’re not alone, and you’re not a bad mom for also having feelings, for feeling overwhelmed, for feeling tired even when we try our best to not be.
You’re a great mom!
