การเล่นโมเดลสัตว์ไม่ได้เป็นเพียงแค่ของเล่นธรรมดา แต่ยังเป็นเครื่องมือสำคัญที่ช่วยพัฒนาเด็กในหลายๆ ด้านอย่างหลากหลาย จากประสบการณ์ส่วนตัว ผมพบว่าเมื่อเด็กได้เล่นกับโมเดลสัตว์ พวกเขาจะเกิดความสนใจอยากเรียนรู้เรื่องราวของสัตว์แต่ละชนิด เช่น ชื่อสายพันธุ์ที่แตกต่าง ถิ่นที่อยู่อาศัย รวมถึงพฤติกรรมและอาหารโปรด ซึ่งช่วยเปิดโลกทัศน์และเสริมสร้างความรู้ด้านธรรมชาติวิทยาได้อย่างเป็นธรรมชาติ นอกจากนี้เด็กยังได้ฝึกการสร้างเรื่องเล่าและบทสนทนาในขณะเล่น ทำให้พัฒนาทักษะการสื่อสาร และเสริมทักษะภาษาไทยและภาษาอังกฤษในคำศัพท์ที่เกี่ยวข้องกับสัตว์อย่างมีประสิทธิภาพ ในแง่ของทักษะร่างกาย โมเดลสัตว์ที่มีขนาดเล็กหลากหลายรูปแบบช่วยกระตุ้นพัฒนาการกล้ามเนื้อมัดเล็ก เพราะเด็กต้องใช้มือหยิบจับ วาง และจัดระเบียบอย่างระมัดระวัง ซึ่งเป็นการฝึกฝนประสานงานระหว่างมือและตา (Hand-eye coordination) ที่สำคัญต่อการเรียนรู้การเขียนหนังสือในภายหลังด้วย อีกหนึ่งข้อดีที่ควรกล่าวถึงคือ โมเดลสัตว์ช่วยฝึกสมาธิและความสามารถในการจดจ่อ เด็กที่ได้เล่นจะตั้งใจสังเกตและจำแนกประเภทสัตว์ เช่น แยกสัตว์กินพืชกับสัตว์กินเนื้อ พร้อมทั้งฝึกการวางแผนจัดเรียงในรูปแบบต่างๆ เช่น การสร้างสวนสัตว์จำลอง ทั้งนี้ยังปลูกฝังให้เด็กเคารพธรรมชาติและส่งเสริมความเมตตาต่อสัตว์ซึ่งเป็นพื้นฐานของการอนุรักษ์สิ่งแวดล้อมในอนาคต จากที่เล่ามานี้ การเล่นโมเดลสัตว์จึงไม่ใช่เพียงแค่การสนุกสนาน แต่ยังเป็นกิจกรรมที่พัฒนาทักษะรอบด้านอย่างลึกซึ้ง เหมาะสำหรับผู้ปกครองที่ต้องการส่งเสริมพัฒนาการและจินตนาการของลูกๆ ได้อย่างแท้จริง
