Migraine vs dizziness

Today I noticed a migraine nothing new more often then not there is a migraine. I also noticed the dissociation dizzy/fuzzy feeling. when I focus on the fuzzy feeling the migraine goes to the background. I thought who the heck is fronting today? I'm really trying to get communication going better and stop just ignoring what is happening. So I started to question who is around and who is responsible for each feeling. Fox has the migraine and Solomon is holding the fuzziness.

I'm just trying to work and figure out my inner workings today.

... Read moreMigraines and dissociative symptoms such as dizziness or a fuzzy sensation often coexist, making it challenging to distinguish the source of discomfort. One interesting coping mechanism people with migraines and dissociative identity disorder (DID) have observed is how shifting mental focus influences their symptoms. When attention moves from the migraine pain to the dissociative, fuzzy feeling, the migraine pain sometimes recedes temporarily. This shift happens because migraines involve neurological components, including brain fog, sensory changes, and difficulty concentrating, which can overlap with dissociative experiences characterized by altered feelings and perceptions. Dissociation itself, common in conditions like DID, affects mental energy and sensory processing. Concentrating on dissociative sensations may redirect attention away from the migraine’s key pain components, offering temporary relief. However, this is not a permanent solution, as the underlying neurological processes of migraine remain active. Brain fog, seen in migraine sufferers both before and after headache phases, may dissipate while dissociation is focused on but often returns when focus shifts back. This interplay highlights the complexity of managing migraines accompanied by dissociative symptoms. Understanding how mental focus affects symptom perception can empower individuals to explore mindful approaches and grounding techniques that help manage episodes. For example, using self-care strategies such as controlled breathing, meditation, or sensory grounding may improve symptom control without ignoring or suppressing feelings. Recognizing different “parts” or identities, as some people describe—like “Fox” handling the migraine and “Solomon” handling the fuzzy sensations—can be part of a therapeutic process to better communicate internally and externally about one’s experience. This internal communication can foster a more compassionate approach to self-care. If you experience both migraines and dissociative dizziness, it's essential to consult healthcare professionals specializing in neurology and mental health. They can help create a comprehensive treatment plan that addresses both neurological symptoms and dissociative experiences. Overall, awareness of how focus shifts affect symptoms gives new insight into coping and personalizing migraine management while acknowledging the influence of dissociative phenomena.
