... Read moreBeing genuine and authentic in today's world, especially as a mom, can be really tough. I’ve noticed that when I’m honest about my feelings and thoughts—without pretending or hiding part of myself—life often becomes more complicated. People sometimes expect you to conform or act a certain way, and pushing back against that can lead to feeling isolated or misunderstood. In the kitchen, for example, I find that cooking isn't just about preparing meals but also about expressing care and creativity through food. It’s one of the few places where I feel I can truly be myself. However, balancing cooking with mom life’s demands means sometimes feeling stretched thin, especially when others don’t see or appreciate the effort behind the scenes. Keeping true to yourself means embracing both the hard days and the joyful moments. Sometimes, this means explaining or defending your choices to others who might not get why you don’t want to play along with social facades. But ultimately, it’s this authenticity that helps build stronger connections—not just with others but also within yourself. To anyone feeling the same way, remember that it’s okay to set boundaries and prioritize your mental and emotional well-being. Life may be harder when you refuse to play dumb, but in the long run, it’s about living a life that feels meaningful and true to who you are. Cooking, parenting, and being real can coexist, and through shared experiences, we find support and encouragement.

Over-Explaining Is a Survival Response
