... Read moreEmbarking on a fitness journey in your 40s can be both empowering and challenging. From my experience, running has become more than just exercise—it's a way of reclaiming my health and confidence. At 44, weighing 154 lbs and standing 5'7", I've learned that consistency and listening to my body are key. One important aspect I discovered is the impact of my running form. Being a pigeon-toed runner means paying extra attention to how my feet strike the ground. To minimize injury and improve efficiency, I incorporated strength training, flexibility exercises, and proper footwear suited for my gait. Motivation is another crucial factor. Setting realistic goals such as completing a particular distance or simply running regularly helps maintain enthusiasm. Likewise, being part of communities like #over40 and #fitnessmotivation provides support and inspiration. Balancing workouts with rest and nutrition also plays a vital role in sustaining long-term fitness. Middle-aged women often face hormonal shifts and slower recovery times, so prioritizing recovery strategies like stretching, hydration, and sleep makes a noticeable difference. Overall, running my own race means acknowledging my unique journey, embracing progress, and staying motivated to improve. Whether you're beginning your fitness path or reinvigorating your routine, remember that age is just a number, and dedication will carry you forward.

How to get into RUNNING 🏃🏽‍♀️💨
I would NOT have considered myself a runner earlier this year. I've always enjoyed sprinting but long distance running was never my thing or something I was good at. But I decided to sign up for a 10 mile race in the summer to challenge myself and by surprise I slowly began to love running!!
