Football + nights in the 60s = chilli weather👩🏻🍳
👩🏻 Home Recipe 🍳
1x Mild Italian Gound Mild Sausage (16 oz)
1 lb ground beef
4x Happy Harvest Tomato Sauce (8 oz)
1x Happy Harvest Tomato Paste (6 oz)
2x Happy Harvest Petite Diced Tomatoes (14.5 oz)
1x Happy Harvest Diced Tomatoes (14.5 oz)
1x Casa Mamita Diced Tomatoes with Green Chilies
(10 oz)
1x Yellow Onions Bag (3 lb)
1x Multi-Colored Peppers (3 ct)
Beef bouillon
Worcester sauce
2 tablespoons Brown sugar
Ranch seasoning packet (2 packets)
1 can sliced olives (optional)
Dice the bell peppers and onions (more or less depending if you like it chunky) and sauté them with garlic (fresh, minced or seasoning is fine), salt and pepper to taste on medium-high until they cook down and the onions look more translucent (about 5-7 minutes)
Add in the sausage and beef and cook until browned, add salt, pepper, and more garlic to taste.
Once browned, reduce to medium heat crumble over 2 beef boullion cubes, pack of ranch seasoning, and add a few splashed of Worcester sauce, stir to mix well and cook for a few minutes more
Add in all of the canned veggies and sauces (except the black olives) and stir well. Bring to a boil, stirring frequently. Once it’s started bubbling, reduce heat to simmer and cover with a lid for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking/burning at the bottom.
After the 15 minutes, stir in the sliced olives and cream cheese until melted and well incorporated. Season with garlic powder, onion powder, chilli powder, salt, pepper, and paprika to taste. Let simmer another 10 minutes to an hour (the longer it sits, the better it gets)
Serve with sour cream and club crackers!!!!
Took me years to perfect this recipe just how I like it💖
Chili season is truly a favorite time for many home cooks and football fans alike, especially when the weather turns chilly. This classic chili recipe combines mild Italian sausage, ground beef, and a variety of diced tomatoes and peppers to create a rich, comforting dish that’s both flavorful and satisfying. Using quality canned tomatoes like Happy Harvest for sauce, paste, and diced varieties adds depth to the chili’s base. The addition of Casa Mamita Diced Tomatoes with Green Chilies introduces a mild heat balanced by the brown sugar and ranch seasoning, which provide a unique savory-sweet flavor profile. When preparing your chili, sautéing the onions and bell peppers until translucent alongside garlic not only enhances aroma but also builds the foundational tastes. Crumbling in well-seasoned sausage and beef ensures a hearty, meaty texture, while beef bouillon cubes and Worcestershire sauce deepen the umami. An optional yet delicious twist is incorporating sliced black olives and cream cheese near the end of cooking. This addition lends creaminess and an unexpected tang that elevates the overall richness of the chili. Simmering the chili adequately—15 minutes initially covered, then an additional 10 minutes to an hour uncovered—allows flavors to meld nicely. Remember, the longer the chili sits, the better the taste, as ingredients continue to marry and intensify. Serving suggestions like dolloping with sour cream and pairing with crunchy club crackers offer delightful contrasts in textures and cool down the heat, making every bite enjoyable. For those experimenting with chili seasoning, garlic, onion, chili powder, paprika, and salt and pepper adjustments help customize the heat and flavor intensity to your preference, making this an adaptable recipe for various taste buds. This recipe not only evokes nostalgic football nights of the 60s but also stands as a testament to the art of comforting homemade chili—perfect for family gatherings, game day celebrations, or simply warming up during cold evenings.
