Most coffee and energy drinks don’t actually give you energy.

They give you stress.

That tired but wired feeling.

The jitters.

The afternoon crash.

The brain fog that hits even when you just had caffeine.

That’s usually a cortisol spike.

I didn’t realize this for years. I just thought I needed stronger coffee or better sleep or more discipline.

But my body wasn’t lacking motivation.

It was stuck in stress mode.

Most caffeinated drinks push your nervous system harder so you can power through exhaustion temporarily. And if your cortisol is already high, that usually makes things worse over time.

Switching to something that supports my cortisol instead of working against it changed everything for me.

My energy feels calmer.

My focus lasts longer.

And I don’t get that mid-afternoon crash anymore.

If you’ve ever felt exhausted but overstimulated at the same time, you know exactly what I mean.
