🍑 RDLs (Romanian Deadlifts): Your Glute Growth Bestie! 💪🏾
If you’re trying to build stronger glutes and hamstrings, don’t skip the RDL!
✅ How to Perform an RDL:
• Stand with feet hip-width apart.
• Hold dumbbells or a barbell close to your thighs.
• Keep a slight bend in your knees.
• Push your hips back while keeping your back flat and your core engaged.
• Lower the weight until you feel a stretch in your hamstrings.
• Drive your hips forward and squeeze your glutes to return to standing.
🔥 Muscles Worked:
🍑 Gluteus maximus
🦵 Hamstrings
⚡ Lower back (erector spinae)
💪 Core
🦿 Adductors
🦵 Forearms & grip strength
Pros:
✔️ Builds stronger, fuller glutes
✔️ Increases hamstring strength and flexibility
✔️ Improves hip hinge mechanics
✔️ Enhances athletic performance
✔️ Helps support better posture
Cons:
❌ Poor form can strain your lower back
❌ Too much weight can reduce your range of motion
❌ Hamstring soreness is real—especially if you’re new!
✨ Pro Tips:
• Keep the weight close to your legs the entire movement.
• Don’t round your back—keep your chest proud.
• Hinge at the hips, not by squatting.
• Only lower as far as your mobility allows.
• Control the weight on the way down and squeeze your glutes at the top.
Slow, controlled reps > Ego lifting. Your glutes will thank you! 🍑🔥
