This is my experience as a female in workplace

I've seen it too many times, I'm sick of it. A young woman starts their career, optimistic, hopeful, full of focus and determination. Then a female leader comes up, offers to mentor them, but steals their ideas, takes credit for their work, uses them as a scape goat, or just rips them off and pushes them out. These ""leaders"" then yell at the young woman, puff up their chest and try to intimidate her into compliance.

The thing is - any woman that does this - was once that young employee. They know what it is like to be shamed for speaking up, for demanding respect, for crying out of frustration in the office. They could use this knowledge to help the new hire have success, but instead they manipulate the situation for their own benefit.

I can hear it now ""it was even worse in my day, be happy I wasn't 'that' bad"" as if being less abusive is a justification for your actions. You KNOW how it feels to be made to feel small, have everything questioned, you have gotten to a level where you see how easy it is for the other sex to make career progress at the office... yet you CHOOSE to use and intimidate the women who come after you.

Do you feel related? What roles are you playing?

... Read moreIn today's workplace, the dynamic between female leaders and young women is a topic of significant discussion. Many young women entering their careers often face a harsh reality where their ideas and contributions are overshadowed or outright taken. Research shows that women in leadership positions can sometimes resort to manipulative behaviors, creating an environment that fosters anxiety and conflict rather than support. The phenomenon can be attributed to a variety of factors, including competitive workplace cultures, societal pressures, and internalized biases. Mentorship in the professional setting should ideally promote growth and collaboration, empowering the next generation of leaders. However, the experiences shared by young women echo a worrying trend—the cycle of hostility among women in the workplace that perpetuates further discrimination and inequality. Studies suggest that workplaces led by women who mentor young professionals positively influence employee morale and retention rates. Instead of fostering a competitive atmosphere, transforming mentorship into genuine opportunities for development must be prioritized. It's important for women to unite against these detrimental behaviors and create a supportive network. Engaging in open discussions about experiences and sharing strategies for navigating workplace hurdles can empower individuals. By breaking the cycle of intimidation, women can collectively forge a healthier work environment where respect and collaboration thrive. Discussing these issues openly is essential to dismantling the barriers that hinder progress and ensuring that future generations of women experience a more equitable workforce.

Im so glad the "pick me" insult trend is over bc you would've been ripped apart for saying that. I agree though, women see eachother as competition even subconsciously if you don't think you do, you do. I think that's why female bosses and leaders act that way bc they want to be better and above you bc you are
