My Low Porosity Hair Care 😁
These are my holy grails in my hair care routine with having Low Porosity hair finding and maintaining a healthy routine has changed the game for my hair. Once I finally learned what my hair liked and didn’t like I was able to made it a habit in sticking to my routine that has improved the overall health of my hair.
1. Detangling: 98% of the time I detangle my hair with my fingers and when in boy I’m using a wide tooth comb. I NEVER detangle my hair dry to prevent less pulling and unnecessary breakage.
2. Water Temp: When washing my hair I use WARM water (never hot or cold) as this allows for my hair cuticles to slightly open toallow for moisture absorbing.
3. Clarifying Shampoo: I stick with shampoo that can clean and remove product build-up without being too harsh.
4. Moisturizing but Lightweight Conditioners: I can’t stress this enough I AVOID heavy creams that can weigh the hair down and leave excess product build up and I opt for hydrating formulas with humectants like glycerin or aloe vera. Water based leave in conditioner hands down work best for me.
5. Hair Gel: I go for alcohol free light weight gels that dry clear without creating added build up, Olive Oil Eco style get In the green jar has never let me down.
6. In Hair Oils: To seal in the moisture as a last step to applying any product I use light weight oils such as avocado, almond, tea tree, or jojoba oil.
