On days when I consciously choose to rest, I notice greater clarity and creativity in my thinking. Resting also strengthens emotional resilience, which is especially important for individuals on the autism spectrum who may experience sensory overload or fatigue more intensely. Incorporating rest into your routine can be as simple as spending time in nature, practicing mindfulness, or engaging in gentle activities that bring joy without pressure. These moments of pause remind us that productivity is not measured solely by constant action but also by how well we care for ourselves. Remember, slow days still matter—rest is productive too.
