Go get the adjustments on your dentures! They should NOT hurt you
Having dentures can be a big change, and getting used to them may take some time. However, one thing I’ve learned from personal experience is that dentures should never cause pain. If they do, it’s a clear sign that you need to visit your dentist for adjustments. Ill-fitting dentures can lead to sore spots, irritation, and even infections in your mouth. When I first got my dentures, I thought some discomfort was normal, but after a few days, the pain became too much to bear. I scheduled an appointment and had the dentist make several fine adjustments. Those little tweaks made a huge difference, and my oral health improved. The fit became snugger, preventing slipping while I spoke or ate. Regular check-ups are also important because your mouth changes shape over time, so what was once a perfect fit may start causing problems. Don’t hesitate to seek help early—ignoring discomfort can worsen problems and affect your overall well-being. Good-fitting dentures improve not only comfort but also confidence and quality of life.
