- move your body! My friends and I have recently got into Zumba. Highly recommend it’s awesome! I like to try new things because every once in a while I get tired of walking everyday so I like to switch up and try new things.
- eating at home has actually saved me money and it makes me feel better. Putting good things in your body unlike fast food makes you actually feel better on the inside. (Wish someone told me that sooner😫)
- every once in a while I will treat myself to fast food but 9 out of 10 times it’s chipotle. Which in my opinion is the most healthy option near me.
- reading!! 📖 find a book that ACTUALLY interests you. I used to not like reading but when I found the right type of book it has helped me a lot.
- ever since I stopped getting on my phone before bed I have gotten the best quality sleep ever. Also 100% optional but getting a new GOOD pillow has helped 10000% as well. (Highly recommend 😏)
- with me getting a fun water bottle has helped me tons to drink more water!!
... Read moreHey everyone! So, building on my earlier post about tackling the 75-Day Challenge in college, I wanted to dive deeper into how I truly make these healthy habits stick amidst the chaos of student life. It's not always easy, but trust me, finding your rhythm makes all the difference for a thriving college student lifestyle.
First off, let's talk about staying active. Beyond just hitting the gym to lift weights 5 days a weekk, I've discovered the joy of variety. Sometimes it's a quick 30-minute workout before classes, other times it's rallying my friends for a dance session. Remember how I mentioned Me & my girls loveeee zumbaaaa? Seriously, group fitness classes are a game-changer! They’re fun, social, and a great way to MOVEE YA BODYYY without it feeling like a chore. Plus, walking or biking to campus instead of driving adds up!
When it comes to food, my biggest hack for a healthier and more budget-friendly college lifestyle has been mastering the art of COOK @HOME!!!. It's not just about saving money; it's about knowing exactly what’s going into your body. I've learned to love meal prepping on Sundays. Think big batches of roasted veggies, grilled chicken, and quinoa. This way, when midterms hit and I'm swamped with homework and need to Read, study, listen to podcasts, do your homework!!, I have nutritious meals ready to go, making it easier to stick to NO FAST FOOD. Of course, treats happen, but having healthy options readily available dramatically cuts down on those impulsive, unhealthy choices.
Sleep, oh glorious sleep! This was a huge one for me. I used to pull all-nighters, thinking it was just part of the college experience. But truly, deciding to Prioritize your sleep!! 7-9 hours every night has been transformative. My focus in classes improved, and my mood is so much better. My tip? Create a solid bedtime routine, even in a busy dorm. That means avoiding phone use before bed (seriously, it helps!) and trying to go to bed and wake up around the same time daily. And yes, investing in a good pillow was a game-changer, as I mentioned!
And finally, hydration. It sounds simple, but it’s often overlooked. My fun water bottle is my constant companion. I aim for 2-3 Stanley's a day! (or any large reusable bottle you love!). Keeping water nearby reminds me to sip continuously. It keeps my energy levels up and helps me avoid reaching for sugary drinks. I’ve really tried to advise against coffee, energy drinks, alcohol, or soda. as much as possible, opting for water or herbal tea instead. It keeps my skin clearer and my head clearer too!
These adjustments might seem small individually, but together, they've sculpted a much happier and healthier college student lifestyle for me. It’s all about finding what works for you and making those consistent, positive choices. You got this!
