Unlearning

2025/7/9 Edited to

... Read moreUnlearning involves challenging deeply ingrained beliefs and habits that may hinder personal growth and well-being. Many people struggle with the notion that they must always be productive, never rest, and handle all challenges alone. However, these misconceptions can lead to burnout and decreased effectiveness. Firstly, recognizing that taking breaks and allowing oneself to rest is essential for mental and physical health is a crucial unlearning step. Rest is not a sign of weakness but a vital component of sustainable productivity. Quality rest not only rejuvenates the body but also fosters creativity and better decision-making. Secondly, asking for help is often misunderstood as a weakness or failure. In reality, seeking assistance fosters collaboration, strengthens relationships, and leads to better outcomes. Accepting that it’s okay to rely on others allows individuals to manage tasks more effectively and reduce unnecessary stress. Lastly, the pressure to constantly keep up or rush through tasks can be counterproductive. Patience enables thorough understanding and quality work, preventing the burden that comes with hurried efforts on matters that may not require urgent attention. Learning to prioritize and pace oneself helps maintain balance and focus on what truly matters. These unlearning principles align with mental health best practices and productivity research. Embracing them cultivates resilience, emotional intelligence, and sustainable growth. By internalizing that rest, help, and patience are strengths rather than weaknesses, individuals can transform their lives positively.

Some Lessons Help You Survive. Then They Keep You Small.
Healing hasn’t been about becoming someone new. It’s been about questioning the lessons I learned to survive. Some of those lessons protected me when I needed them. Some helped me navigate disappointment, chaos, burnout, and relationships that taught me to expect very little. But survival

Unhealthy things I am unlearning as a mom 🌸
Being a good mom is my top priority. 1. Punishing emotions. I will not get my daughter in trouble for yelling at me, crying, or anything else. If you were crying and somebody told you you have no reason to be, or that they’ll give you a reason to cry, how would you feel? Worse? 2. Shaming.
