Must Do in Melbourne: 🍑🍒🥵

🥵Summer in Melbourne = peach & cherry season 🍑🍒

🧑‍🌾 Took a break from café hopping and shopping to live my farmer dreams (ok… fruit harvester) for a few hours.

😋 Farm environment + rows of juicy peaches, plums & cherries = instant serotonin. Even with the crowds, there were plenty of good-quality fruits still hanging on the trees 👀

🏷️ Prices? Similar to Coles — but way more fun when you’re plucking straight from the tree (and sneaking a bite or two 🌚)

🔥 Pro tip: maybe don’t go on the hottest #MelbourneSummer day that week like we did. The sun hits hard and energy drains fast 🥵

👥 Expect crowds, but queues move quickly and there’s enough space to roam. That said… some people were full-on picnicking and tossing perfectly good fruit on the ground 🤦‍♂️

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A super fun, novel experience outside the usual #melbourne itinerary.

✔️ Go early

✔️ Check the weather

✔️ Be ready to eat fresh seasonal fruits for the next 3 days straight 🤩

First, timing is everything—arrive early in the day to avoid peak crowds and enjoy the freshest picks. Also, check the weather before you go; Melbourne summers can be intense, so dress comfortably and bring sun protection. The farm environment adds to the charm, with long rows of white peaches, red and white cherries, and plums ready to harvest. Unlike supermarket shopping, picking your own fruit allows you to select only the best-ripe pieces, and tasting as you go is highly satisfying! Pricing is comparable to local supermarkets like Coles, but the experience itself is priceless. Be mindful of farm rules: do not picnic on-site and avoid wasting fruit by tossing it on the ground. Carry containers if needed and wash your fruit before eating. Finally, plan to indulge in the bounty for a few days after your visit—it’s impossible to eat all the fresh produce in one go, but well worth the try! This hands-on farm visit really brings the summer season alive and is a standout addition to any Melbourne itinerary.
