okay now what?
not going to lie. I feel like my garden is a dud this year. feel like I just did an experiment and the outcome was nothing at all. maybe I dont have a green thumb and need to stick to house plants 😭
I totally understand how it feels when your garden doesn't turn out the way you hoped—it can be frustrating to invest time and energy and then see little to no results. From my experience, gardening often involves trial and error, especially if you're just starting out or trying your hand at different types of plants. One thing that really helped me was shifting my focus to container gardening and choosing hardy, beginner-friendly plants like succulents or herbs that thrive indoors or in small spaces. It’s important to remember that not having a green thumb at first is completely normal. Gardening skills improve with patience and practice. Sometimes external factors—such as weather, soil quality, water, and light—play a huge role in plant growth. I recommend keeping a simple gardening journal to track what you plant, where, and how often you water it; this helps you learn what works in your environment. Also, don’t hesitate to experiment with houseplants if outdoor gardening feels too challenging right now. Plants like pothos, snake plants, and ZZ plants are very forgiving even if you occasionally forget to water them. Plus, they bring a wonderful dose of greenery to your home. Lastly, online gardening communities and local gardening clubs can be great resources for advice and encouragement. Sharing your journey, asking questions, and learning from others' successes and failures can make the experience more rewarding. Remember, every gardener faces setbacks—what matters is how you learn and grow from them. So, don’t give up! Your garden story is just beginning.
