きょうだいゲンカは親にとって悩ましい問題ですが、無理に謝罪を強制するとかえって子供たちの 気持ちを押し殺し、同じ問題が繰り返されるケースが多いです。私も3歳差の兄弟を育てる親として、毎日のようにケンカに悩まされてきましたが、ある時「謝ることだけで解決したことにはならない」と気づきました。 まず試したのは、親がジャッジ役から一歩引き、子供たちの気持ちを実況中継すること。「まだ使いたかったんだね」「叩かれて痛かったね」と伝えることで、子供たち自身が自分の感情に気づき、それを認められる安心感が生まれます。さらに「次からどうする？」と質問することで、子供たちが自ら解決策を考え、提案し合う習慣が身につきました。 私自身、最初は戸惑いましたが、このステップを根気よく続けていくと、自然と子供同士で解決しようとする姿が見られ、親のストレスも大幅に減りました。謝罪の言葉に頼らず、子供の自走力を育てることが大切だと実感しています。 また、この方法は言語聴覚士として培ったコミュニケーション技術を活かしており、ただ単に「ごめんね」を促すのではなく、言葉が持つ本来の意味や感情の受け止め方を重視しています。ぜひ一度「ごめんね」の強制をお休みし、子供たちの気持ちに寄り添う対話の方法を試してみてください。親子ともにラクになり、きょうだいゲンカが自然に収まるようになるかもしれません。
