Some college life you cannot unsee

3/31 Edited to

... Read moreCollege life is full of surprises, and some of the most memorable moments come from witnessing things that you just can't erase from your mind. I remember during my first year at university walking through the dorm halls and noticing some really unhygienic habits among my peers. One of the most unforgettable scenes was seeing a classmate not wash their hands after using the restroom, something that completely changed how I viewed shared spaces like study rooms and cafeterias. This experience made me much more aware of personal hygiene and the importance of creating space in shared environments. It's not just about personal comfort but about community health. I started observing how these small actions could impact others, especially in crowded places where germs spread easily. It also got me thinking about how college is a microcosm of society where we learn social norms not only from classes but also from real-life interactions. Having witnessed these unclean habits, I made it a point to always carry hand sanitizer and encourage friends to maintain cleanliness, making it somewhat of a campus mission. It’s funny how something so simple like handwashing can become a big deal once you see how often it’s neglected. These moments, gross as they are, are part of the authentic college experience and serve as valuable lessons in personal responsibility and community living. If you’ve encountered something similarly memorable yet cringe-worthy on campus, you know how it sticks with you. It’s these moments that shape our understanding of college life beyond textbooks—teaching us about the realities, challenges, and sometimes unpleasant truths of living closely with others. And honestly, once you’ve seen something gross, your brain just won’t let it go!
