💊Pros & Cons of Being a College Pharmacy Major💊

Here are some pros and cons of my major, pharmacy!

Pros:

•Pharmacy has a high job growth projection meaning that there will be an increase in need for pharmacists

•Pharmacist also make a lot of money!

•Pharmacy gives you many opportunities to go into other fields of pharmacy such as retail, hospital, and research!

•Pharmacy also is a profession that helps others which is a great feeling!

Cons:

•During college, you do not have a lot of free time

•Pharmacy majors normally are going into pharmacy specifically and depending on the program, it does not set you up for another career field

• The program is very fast paced so it can’t get very overwhelming

•Pharmacy is a major that requires a lot of time so it may be hard to join other clubs or activities

Overall, for me, the pros outweigh the cons and I cannot wait to go to graduate school next year!

薬学専攻は将来性が高く、多くの学生が魅力を感じる分野ですが、学びながら生活や他の活動とのバランスに苦労することもあります。たとえば、私の経験では授業のペースが非常に速いため、自由時間は限られ、クラブ活動やアルバイトとの両立は難しいと感じました。また、薬学のカリキュラムは専門性が強いため、卒業後のキャリアは薬剤師としての道が中心になることが多く、他分野への転職を考える場合は追加の資格取得や学習が必要になることもあります。一方で、薬剤師は医療現場だけでなく、小売、研究開発など多様な働き方が可能であり、将来的に自分に合った場所で働ける自由度があるのが魅力です。私は、薬学専攻の学びが将来の人助けにつながることに大きなやりがいを感じています。忙しい中でも努力を続けることで、専門知識を身につけ、社会貢献できる職業への第一歩を踏み出せるところが、この専攻の最大のメリットだと実感しています。
