Homemade corned beef sandwich!

The first time I ever had a corned beef sandwich was when I moved here to Cleveland! Beat deli sandwich ever!! So I learned to make it at home!

Corned Beef:

* 2–3 lb corned beef brisket (with seasoning packet)

* 3–4 cups water or beef broth

* 3 cloves garlic (optional)

* ½ onion, sliced (optional)

🥪 Sandwich:

* Bread (white, sourdough, or rye)

* Swiss cheese

* Butter

* Mustard (optional)

👩🏽‍🍳 Instructions:

1. Crockpot the corned beef

* Add corned beef to slow cooker

* Sprinkle seasoning packet

* Add water/broth + garlic + onion

* Cook:

* LOW: 8–10 hours

* HIGH: 4–5 hours

👉 It should be super tender and shreddable

2. Prep the meat

* Remove from crockpot

* Let it rest a few minutes

* Slice AGAINST the grain or shred it

3. Build the sandwich

* Butter outside of bread

* Inside:

* Swiss cheese

* Pile of corned beef (heavy handed 😭)

* More Swiss

4. Grill

* Medium heat skillet

* Cook 3–4 mins each side

* Press lightly for that golden crust
