Finding Myself Again

I have been on and off anti-depressants and anxiety medication since I was 15. This last round I spent a total of 3 years on it after having my son an experiencing really bad PPD/PPA. While I was on it I believed I felt normal (whatever that is😂). However, since being off of it for the last year and a half I feel like myself. Of course I’ve grown and things about me have changed. I just don’t know another way to describe it. I do know that I have noticed some big differences between being on medications and being off of it.

My motivation and drive to get things done has greatly increased since getting off of it. I was once a very driven person and over the last several years I have felt as if I haven’t had the motivation to get up and do the things I knew I needed to do. Now, I’m getting up and doing it.

My thoughts are the clearest they have been in years(being pp very well could’ve been a contributing factor)! I have been trying to create content for some time. I didn’t start pursuing it more until 2021 and I was on the medication by then. I am someone who enjoys having deep, meaningful conversations. While I like to show some of my life, I would prefer to have discussions as my main form of content. I have struggled getting a lot of my thoughts out in a way that makes sense to others. Of course I know not everyone will understand or agree with me. I just want to be gentle with my words and I haven’t been. People used to always tell me I have a way with words. That I was good at explaining things in a way that people understood what I was talking about and I lost touch with that.

While I’m finding my way back to myself, I’m still focusing on growth. I don’t want to go back to who I used to be, but I do want to be me. I guess I’m really just rediscovering who it is I have become🫧

... Read moreMental health journeys can be incredibly complex, involving various treatments and personal reflections. Many individuals face challenges like Postpartum Depression (PPD) or Anxiety (PPA) after significant life changes such as motherhood. It's essential to recognize that medication can impact motivation and cognitive clarity, but personal growth often requires more than just treatment. Engaging with our thoughts, creating meaningful content, and fostering deep conversations are vital steps in the healing process. Those on similar journeys may find themselves struggling with how to express their experiences; reconnecting with one’s voice can be immensely fulfilling. Embracing vulnerability can open doors to self-acceptance and understanding of our evolving identities. The struggle of finding clarity, motivation, and purpose resonates with many, making it crucial to share these experiences and support one another in our paths towards rediscovering ourselves.

Finding myself in my 30’s 🫶
I have learned a lot since I have turned 30. I’ve learned that it is ok to be alone & not everyone will like you. It is ok to not have friends or have a very small circle. Not all blood is family & some family aren’t blood. I have an aunt (mom’s friend since HS), cousin (her son) & brot
