Thrifting in NYC | 📍Bushwick

Bushwick is the neighborhood in New York City , Especially when it comes to thrifting. Bushwick has so many thrift / vintage shops. There is definitely something for everyone !

Here’s a few of my favorites ⬇️

Urban Jungle

28 Scott Vintage

What Mary Kept

These are all walking distance from each other so you can check them all out in just one day. Minutes away from the J /Z , M, and L trains. The vibes are different at all of them but they all have great finds!

Urban Jungle is your typical thrift store, but it is HUGE. 28 Scott Vintage is a lil more upscale and even sells perfume (& makes their own scotch 🤨) What Mary Kept is cozy and chaotic in the best way ! The staff is super kind and helpful!

Bushwick

... Read moreHey fellow treasure hunters! If you're anything like me, the thrill of finding a hidden gem is what makes shopping truly exciting, and nowhere does it better than Bushwick, NYC. While the main article pointed out some fantastic shops like Urban Jungle, 28 Scott Vintage, and What Mary Kept, I wanted to dive a little deeper into making your Bushwick thrifting adventure truly epic. First off, getting there is a breeze. As mentioned, the J/Z, M, and L trains drop you right in the heart of it. I usually hop off at the Jefferson St or DeKalb Ave stops (L train) or Myrtle-Wyckoff Av (L/M trains) and just start exploring on foot. The beauty of Bushwick thrifting is how walkable everything is; you can easily hit several spots in one afternoon, which is perfect for maximizing your finds! To really score big, timing can be everything. I've found that hitting the stores on a weekday morning is ideal. You avoid the weekend crowds, and sometimes new inventory has just been put out. Weekends can be fun for the buzz, but be prepared for more competition for those prime pieces! Always bring a reusable bag – you never know what you'll walk away with! When you're sifting through racks at a massive spot like Urban Jungle, which is truly *huge*, don't get overwhelmed. I like to tackle sections methodically. Look for natural fibers like cotton, linen, silk, and wool. Keep an eye out for unique prints, vintage labels, or anything that just feels special. Don't be afraid to try things on, even if the fitting rooms are a bit... rustic. Sometimes the best pieces are the ones you wouldn't expect! 28 Scott Vintage, with its more curated selection, is fantastic for finding those slightly more upscale, unique items, and I've even spotted some amazing accessories and home decor there. It's the kind of place where you might find a statement piece you'll cherish for years. And for a more intimate, charming hunt, What Mary Kept offers that cozy, chaotic vibe where you can really dig in and unearth something truly one-of-a-kind. The staff there are genuinely lovely and always happy to help you find what you're looking for. Oh, and while you're there, you absolutely have to check out ANDY VHYWAR, which I spotted on my last trip! It's another fantastic spot that prides itself on offering some of Bushwick's best finds. Each store has its own personality, and discovering them is half the fun! Beyond the clothes, Bushwick itself is a canvas. Take a moment between shops to admire the incredible street art and murals. There are also tons of cool cafes and eateries. I always plan a coffee break or grab a quick bite at one of the local spots to refuel. It turns a shopping trip into a full-fledged day out, soaking in all the unique Bushwick vibes. Happy thrifting, and I can't wait to hear about your amazing discoveries!
