Family Fun In NYC | New Victory Theater

New Victory Theater was originally built as a Broadway theater but it is now considered Off-Broadway. If you are in the mood for a good show for the entire family , this is even better !

Tickets are as low as $25. But if you have a New York Public Library Card you can go for free with Culture Pass! It is good for two people you just have to reserve it in advance .

It is located right in Times Square making it assessable by virtually every train line . ( not all of them , but definitely a lot )

Doors open 45 minutes before show time. I recommend getting there early to enjoy the activities! There are arts and crafts and even a lil cafe. But no worries if you can’t get there early . You can enjoy all of the activities after the show and even meet the cast.

Definitely a must see if you are in Midtown Manhattan

... Read moreAs a parent constantly looking for engaging and affordable activities in New York City, discovering the New Victory Theater has been an absolute game-changer for our family outings. It's not just a place to watch a show; it's an entire experience designed with kids and families in mind, making live theater accessible and exciting. From the moment you approach, the energy is palpable. The exterior of the New Victory Theater in Times Square is a landmark itself, standing proudly amidst the dazzling lights and bustling crowds. You'll notice the grand entrance stairs inviting you in, and a clear street-level box office sign. What always catches my eye is the vibrant digital display advertising upcoming shows and, importantly, highlighting that tickets start as low as $24 – a refreshing sight in expensive NYC! This visual cue immediately tells you that quality family entertainment doesn't have to break the bank. Stepping inside, the interior of the New Victory Theater offers a wonderful escape from the Times Square hustle. The lobby areas are bright, cheerful, and often buzzing with pre-show activities. Before a recent performance, my kids absolutely loved the arts and crafts stations, which are a fantastic way to engage them and build excitement for the show. There's even a little cafe if you need a quick snack or drink. The atmosphere is genuinely welcoming, making every family feel right at home. The auditorium itself is beautifully designed, ensuring a comfortable and intimate viewing experience. You'll find the audience seated, eagerly anticipating the curtain, with the stage often featuring a screen displaying the iconic 'New Victory Theater' logo before the magic truly begins. I still remember grabbing my program for 'The Magic City' – it’s such a tangible part of the experience, and I even tucked my ticket for April 16, 2025, inside, already planning our next visit! One of the best-kept secrets, and a tip I always share, is the New York Public Library Culture Pass. If you have a NYPL card, you can often reserve free tickets for two people! It requires a bit of foresight to book in advance, but it’s an incredible opportunity to enjoy world-class performances without the cost. Even if you don't get there 45 minutes before showtime for the activities, don't worry! You can often enjoy these engaging experiences after the show, and sometimes, the cast even comes out to meet the audience, which is a truly unforgettable moment for little ones. The theater's location right in Midtown Manhattan and Times Square means it's incredibly easy to reach by virtually every major train line, making it a convenient destination from anywhere in the city. It's truly a must-visit for any family looking for enriching and fun #thingstodo in #nyc!
