From personal experience, incorporating gentle core workouts like planks, bicycle kicks, leg raises, and crunches not only maintains fitness but also helps soothe minor stomach pains associated with menstruation. These exercises engage your core without causing strain, making them ideal during this time. Hydration plays a crucial role as well; drinking hot lemon water or warm minty tea can calm your digestive system and provide relief from cramps. Coconut water is another excellent choice, packed with natural electrolytes that boost energy and prevent exhaustion. Listening to your body is key. It’s okay to adjust the intensity or skip days if needed. Incorporating relaxing stretches such as the "Happy Baby" and "Downward Dog" poses before bedtime promotes relaxation and muscular relief, which can improve sleep quality during your period. Eating balanced meals and snacking when hungry helps maintain energy levels; fueling your body properly is essential, especially when working out.
