High Cholesterol
My father got stroke in 2011 (he still has speech problems till now) and my uncle had a ministroke six months ago. I never thought that stroke has a genetic component and having high cholesterol can be genetic. I was grateful to our doctor for ordering this test (and the other ones) a month ago. So, if you want to know yours, the test is called Lipid Panel. Knowing your cholesterol levels is crucial to prevent the risk for heart attacks and strokes. High cholesterol often has no symptoms as it's often called a silent killer.
Our doctor prescribed me statin medication for high cholesterol but I stopped taking it after a week cos I experienced a chest tightness I'd never felt before. I freaked out. Haha! So, I did some research about statin and most of the people advised not to take it. I felt a lot better after refusing to take statin. That's why I don't take medications cos I feel more symptoms after taking them. I've never felt any symptoms in my body but I know I'm not as healthy as before due to hypothyroidism that developed when I got preggy.
Awareness to one's health is better but knowing you're unhealthy as you aged can be terrifying. Life's like that. Our bodies are just trying to remind us to slow down, be mindful with the food and drinks we consume and begin a healthy lifestyle.
