Progress is progress??🤣
Worked on my romance WIP the other day and 770 words is as far as I got for chapter 2. But I'm happy with anything these days. It's so hard to get more than 15 minutes of writing time done as a mom. My daughter is 9 months old now and is so mobile I barely remember to shower. But I'm happy I can get literally anything done🫶🏻📖
Y'all wanna hear the blurb for my romance WIP?👀

Writing while juggling motherhood can be incredibly challenging, especially with a 9-month-old baby who’s becoming more mobile every day. Many mom writers experience fragmented writing sessions, often limited to just 15 minutes here and there, making it difficult to maintain momentum on their projects. Yet, as this journey shows, even small steps like adding 770 words to a work-in-progress (WIP) chapter are valuable progress. Engaging with writing communities such as #momwriter and #writingcommunity provides critical support for writers navigating these demands. Sharing milestones, even modest word counts, helps maintain motivation and accountability. It’s also a reminder that progress isn’t measured solely by quantity but by consistency and perseverance. To optimize your writing time as a busy parent, consider techniques like setting micro-goals, using writing sprints, and carving out protected writing slots daily or weekly. Keeping a flexible mindset and celebrating every bit of writing can reduce pressure and prevent burnout. Moreover, sharing blurbs or excerpts from your romance WIP within these communities invites feedback and connection, enriching the creative process. Whether your story involves heartfelt relationships, engaging characters, or unique plot twists, having a supportive audience eager to follow your journey can offer encouragement. Ultimately, the combination of commitment, realistic goal-setting, and community engagement helps transform the challenge of writing amidst parenting into a fulfilling and achievable endeavor. Progress may be slow and seemingly small at times, but each word added brings your story closer to life.
