Day 1 of 75 hard
Day 1 of 75 Hard: Turning discipline into a lifestyle. Two workouts, a gallon of water, and no excuses—let’s see if I can out-stubborn myself. 🧠 #GameOn #75hardchallenge
Okay, so you've seen my 'Day 1' post, and maybe you're wondering why I decided to jump into the infamous 75 Hard challenge, especially right now. Honestly, for a while, I've been in a bit of a rut. I'm thankful I've been in the gym for over a decade and have been maintaining myself, but lately, I've been losing my motivation to work out. I used to absolutely love going to the gym, finding solace and strength there, but recently, I haven't been consistent at all. It's been tough to stick to a routine, and I found myself just going to the gym when I feel like it, often without a solid workout plan, not even finishing the workout, or skipping cardio entirely. I realized I wasn't doing the things I used to, and that spark was definitely dimming. The idea of 'starting 75 Hard' had been floating around in my head for a while, but I kept finding excuses to put it off. What really pushed me to commit to this 75 day challenge was seeing just how inconsistent my habits had become. My eating habits, for instance, had really gone downhill. I'd been eating out a lot – hitting up McDonald's, Caesars, and Chick-fil-A more often than I'd like to admit. My water intake wasn't great either; I was definitely not drinking the water my body needed. The discipline I once had was slipping away, and I knew I needed something drastic, a full mental and physical reset, to get back on track and truly out-stubborn myself. I want to see if I can survive this! For anyone else thinking about starting this journey, here's a quick rundown of what I'm committing to for the next 75 days, and how I plan to tackle it: Two 45-minute workouts a day, one of which must be outdoors, regardless of weather. This is a big one for me, especially getting back into consistent calisthenics outside. I'm planning my outdoor sessions for early mornings to get it done before the day gets away from me. My indoor workouts will focus on strength training. Drink a gallon of water daily. This sounds simple, but it's a lot! I'm already planning to keep a large water bottle with me at all times and set reminders on my phone. Follow a diet with no cheat meals and no alcohol. This means carefully planning my foods, meal prepping, and saying goodbye to those tempting fast-food stops entirely. My focus will be on whole, unprocessed foods. Read 10 pages of a non-fiction self-improvement book every day. I've already picked out my first book – something to inspire personal growth and keep my mind sharp. This is a habit I really want to solidify. Take a progress picture every single day. This will be an interesting way to visually track my journey, both physically and mentally. My goal isn't just physical transformation; it's about building mental toughness and unwavering discipline. I want to prove to myself that I can follow through on commitments, even when I don't feel like it, and create lasting positive habits. Today is day one, and while I'm a little nervous about the intensity, I'm also incredibly excited to embrace the challenge and see the stronger, more disciplined person I'll become on Day 75. Wish me luck as I embark on this game-changing journey!
