... Read moreWhen I first started learning about sexual assault awareness, one of the most heartbreaking things I kept seeing was the question, 'Is it my fault?' It hits hard, doesn't it? As someone who’s tried to make sense of the world, I want to scream from the rooftops: No, it is absolutely, unequivocally, NEVER your fault. If you've ever felt that burden, please know you are not alone, and the blame lies solely with the perpetrator. It’s shocking to realize the true scope of this issue. Did you know that statistics show 1 in 4 women and 1 in 6 men are victims of sexual assault? These numbers aren't just statistics; they represent real people, real pain, and real journeys toward healing. Understanding 'about SA' isn't just about reading definitions; it's about recognizing the profound impact it has and breaking down the silence that surrounds it. Many myths contribute to victim-blaming – ideas like 'what were they wearing?' or 'why were they there?' or 'they had too much to drink.' These are dangerous narratives that deflect responsibility from the abuser. Consent is not implied by clothing, location, or even a past relationship. Consent must be freely given, enthusiastic, and can be withdrawn at any time. This is foundational to understanding 'the ABCs of consent' and reinforces 'The Power of No.' If someone cannot give explicit consent, it is assault. Full stop. The good news, and something that truly gives me hope, is that 95% of sexual abuse is preventable through education. This isn't just about knowing facts; it's about empowering individuals from a young age. This is where concepts like 'Body Safety Starts Here' become crucial. I remember seeing resources like 'the Body Safety Wise Bundle' that feature practical guides like 'where hands go' and 'body safety rules book 2.' These tools help children understand the difference between 'one safe and unsafe touch' and give them the confidence to say 'STOP' if something feels wrong. Teaching children to 'Keep our children clean' in terms of personal boundaries and safety is paramount. For me, embracing this knowledge has been transformative. It’s not just about protecting ourselves; it’s about creating a culture where everyone feels safe and respected. By talking openly about these topics, we can debunk the 'your fault' mentality and foster a supportive environment. We have to 'stop this y'all keep our children clean' by truly educating them. Let's continue to advocate for comprehensive education, because truly, education is elevation. It’s how we protect our peace and fight for humanity. Remember, if you or someone you know needs support, reaching out to a trusted friend, family member, or a professional support organization is a brave and vital step toward healing and reclaiming your power. You are worthy of healing and support.

I recently just bought this turkey bacon and it’s not bad! I completely cut out all red meat and pork. So if you are on the same kick as me, definitely go try some turkey bacon. It is super high in protein and it’s perfect for what we need on the bariatric diet. Also, if you haven’t tried a cilantr
