Try to be more patient w/ people w/ chronic pain

I wanted to reach out to everyone and try to bring some awareness about people who live with chronic pain. I for one am one of those lucky people. I will first let you know a little about me. I have a lot of health issues and it seems like every time I go to do a new test, another health issue is added on. I will give you a list of my health issues. Be prepared it is long lol. I have Fibromyalgia, Endometriosis, Scoliosis, non radiographic axial spondyloarthritis, Rheumatoid arthritis, Migraines, Chronic Pain, muscle spasms, IBS, GERD, Restless Leg Syndrome, Sleep Paralysis Hallucinations, anxiety, depression, etc the list goes on. I’m also allergic to almost everything. I deal with a lot every day. And every day is different.

I just want everyone to be patient with their family and their friends they know who have chronic pain. We are trying our best every day. Even though it may not seem like it to you, I promise we are. So please don’t be mad, upset, aggravated, that we aren’t able to go out with you. We may cancel a lot of plans. But know this, we really do want to go with you. Sometimes we are just in too much pain that we can’t get out of bed. Also knowing that we canceled our plans for the day, really hurts us mentally. We are upset with ourselves for not trying more and pushing ourselves more to go. We are upset that we hurt our friends or family. We want to be able to get up every day and just do normal life things. But it’s just not that easy for us. If we over do it, then the next day we are in extreme pain. Also every illness is different. So it can be hard to explain how it makes us feel. So please just ask us, ask how we feel, how we are doing, if we need anything, let us know how you are. Just talking to us can make a world of difference to us. We are human and still have human feelings. Chronic pain can be very hard to deal with, but we do have our good days as well. On those good days, come hang out with us. Those are the days we thrive. So again, please be patient. We really are trying our best.

... Read moreLiving with chronic pain is an invisible battle that many endure daily. Conditions such as Fibromyalgia, Rheumatoid arthritis, and Scoliosis make it challenging to maintain a normal lifestyle. People suffering from these conditions often feel misunderstood and isolated, leading to emotional distress. Awareness is key—discussing symptoms openly can bridge gaps between friends and family. Educating loved ones about these conditions can create an environment of empathy, where patience becomes a shared value. It's essential to understand that when plans are canceled, it's not due to a lack of desire to participate, but rather a physical limitation that requires compassion and adjustment. Encouraging discussions about thresholds of pain and personal experiences can foster a support system that benefits everyone involved. Additionally, interesting initiatives like support groups or community resources can illuminate the path for those affected by chronic illness. By prioritizing open lines of communication, we can create a more supportive environment for those navigating the complexities of chronic pain, allowing them to thrive on good days and find strength during tough times.
