My own 30-day glow up challenge as a college student was about finding balance, boosting my energy, and truly investing in my well-being. It’s totally doable, even with a busy schedule! How to Get a Glow Up: My Personal Strategy Morning Movement & Mindset: Kickstarting my day with an early morning walk, often around 6:29 AM, made a huge difference. It wasn't just about the physical exercise; it was about setting a positive tone. Sometimes I'd listen to 'The Mel Robbins Podcast' for some motivation, like her episode on 'Learn From Your Mistakes,' which really helped me shift my perspective. Coupled with daily workouts, including field hockey practice from 6-8 PM, this kept my body active and my mind sharp. Consistency is key here – even a short walk is better than nothing! Fueling My Body Right: Nutrition played a massive role. I focused on balanced, wholesome meals. My day often started with overnight oats for sustained energy, followed by protein-rich eggs with tomatoes and toast. For snacks, a rice cake with peanut butter and apple was a lifesaver. Dinner usually involved lean protein like chicken with avocado and broccoli. It's about making conscious choices that make you feel good, not restricting yourself entirely. Skincare & Supplements for Radiance: Taking care of my skin became a non-negotiable step. My routine included a gentle cleanser, a hydrating hyaluronic serum, a lightweight moisturizing gel-cream, and a glazing milk for that extra glow. I also incorporated supplements like fish oil and biotin, which are fantastic for skin health, hair, and overall vitality. These small steps really add up to make a visible difference. Nourishing My Mind: Mental well-being is just as important as physical. Journaling became a sacred evening ritual. Using a book like 'Healing Through Words' by Rupi Kaur offered prompts and reflections that helped me process my thoughts and practice gratitude before bed. It's amazing how much clearer your mind feels after just a few minutes of putting pen to paper. This practice helped me manage stress and stay focused on my goals throughout the challenge. The Power of Consistency: The biggest takeaway from my 30-day journey was that a glow up isn't about grand gestures; it's about consistent, small habits. Every daily workout, every healthy meal, every skincare step, and every journaling session contributed to a cumulative positive change. It's about building a sustainable healthy lifestyle that makes you feel genuinely good, both inside and out.
