Postpartum Recovery

When i gave birth to my daughter on March 1 i was on a huge struggle bus. I had lost a lot of blood causing my anemia, i had a labial hematoma, tore in 3 separate spots, was constipated (ZERO bowel movement) for 10 days, and had a catheter in for 3 weeks. I couldn’t walk yet couldn’t sit and was essentially bed ridden for a month. Couldnt shower without help and was alternating pain medications every 2 hours to include throughout the night. All while trying to fight to be able to breastfeed. Ultimately my milk supply tanked and i was never able to recover it. My baby is now a healthy formula fed baby. It took me 7 weeks to be able to start walking again and it was very demoralizing to be at such a ground zero. But i have decided to put my best foot forward for myself and not let the cards i was dealt debilitate me. Its been a month since i started and i’ve now lost 10 lbs, and i can walk and go up and down stairs without being winded. My energy levels aren’t amazing yet and some days require a nap or two but we’re getting there. I’m back to cooking again and i’m feeling much more confident.
