It feels like a job to be asthetic

Is it just me or does it feel like I have to try and be aesthetic sometimes I wonder if for some people it comes more naturally and everything they do and everything they have is just naturally aesthetic, but for me, I have to try to be that girl I have to try to be acidic I don’t just wake up and look perfect. Comment If you feel the same.

... Read moreSeriously, when I first shared that feeling about being 'aesthetic' feeling like a job, I wasn't sure if anyone else would get it. But seeing so many of you relate? It's such a relief! It really does feel like there's this invisible checklist I need to tick off every day to achieve that effortlessly chic, 'that girl' vibe we see everywhere. And trust me, it’s anything but effortless for me. For so long, I’d scroll through feeds and wonder, 'Does everyone else just wake up looking perfectly put together with their glowing skin and perfectly styled hair?' While I'm over here, eyes still puffy, trying to remember if I deep conditioned last week. That's when it hit me: maybe it is a job for most of us, and that's totally okay! It’s just that some people are better at making it look easy, or maybe they just enjoy the process more naturally. For me, it's a conscious effort, a series of steps I choose to take. Thinking about it, a big part of why it feels like a job is the sheer number of routines that go into it. My mornings often start with a multi-step skincare regimen, then there's hair styling, makeup (if I’m feeling it), and choosing an outfit that aligns with my desired aesthetic for the day. And don't even get me started on evenings! That's when the real 'work' often begins for me. I love my self-care rituals, but they do take time and commitment. Take my unwind routine, for example. It’s not just a quick shower; it's a whole experience designed to wash away the day and reset. I often indulge in a long bubble bath, like the ones I see on my Pinterest board, complete with Epsom salts and essential oils. Then, it's a full body scrub to get that silky smooth skin, followed by a nourishing body cream. And a face mask? Absolutely essential at least twice a week. I’ve tried so many, from hydrating sheets to purifying clays, and finding the right one can feel like a quest! I even have a collection of beauty tools, from gua shas to facial rollers, that I try to incorporate for that extra glow. It's truly an investment of time and energy, but one I've learned to appreciate as 'me-time' rather than just a chore. So, if you're also feeling like maintaining your aesthetic is a daily grind, know you're not alone. It's about finding joy in the process and reframing these 'tasks' as acts of self-love and personal expression. It doesn't have to be perfect every day, but making the effort for yourself is a beautiful thing. What are your must-do aesthetic routines that feel like a happy 'job'?

That’s how I felt about skincare. In the beginning, doing skincare in the morning and night with so many steps was overwhelming plus all the face masks. However, I just stuck with it and now years later, it’s like I can’t go without my skincare or a good face mask. It eventually just became part of my everyday
