Strawberry Scones

Strawberry Scones - Full recipe

2 cups all purpose flour

3 tbs. sugar

1 tbs. baking powder

1/2 tsp. salt

1/2 cup unsalted butter

1 cup chopped strawberries

1/2 cup milk

1 large egg

For glaze:

2/3 cup powdered sugar

1-2 tbs. milk

1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees Farenheit.

2. Sift together flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.

3. Cube up 1 stick of butter and place in the flour mixture.

4. Use pastry cutter to make a meal with the butter and flour mixture. Be sure to leave chunks of butter in there so that your scones come out nice and flaky.

3. Add strawberries and lightly fold together. Then, make a well in the middle to add your milk and egg.

4. once egg and milk are added, mix together with a fork, then fold all ingredients together until it creates a wet, sticky dough.

5. Transfer to a floured surface and fold mixture on top of each other. Do not knead, as that will cause the butter to melt.

6. round out the dough and flatten until it is about 1/2 inch thick. Then, cut into eights like a pie.

7. Line baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly spray. Then, lay out pieces in a pie shape, but leave a little space so the scones can expand.

8. Bake for 15-20 minutes.

9. While they are baking. mix the powdered sugar and milk together to form a glaze.

10. Once scones are hot out of the oven, drizzle glaze on top. Then, enjoy!
