If you’re here from the viral videos, stay a while! I still love a good “mom humor” moment.
But I also want to share the heart behind everything I create. 💌
God changed my life 10 years ago.
But even when I started living life for Jesus, I felt like the Christian life HAD to be marked with hardship. I couldn’t seem to find delight in the Lord and I sure didn’t feel like He delighted in me.
But the Bible says otherwise!
“He brought me out into a broad place; He rescued me, because he delighted in me.” Psalm 18:19
That is the premise for my life and for my writing. It is why I named my newsletter for moms “Dwell & Delight” so that as I learn to find delight in the Lord and in life again, and remember of His delight in me, I can encourage other moms to do the same. 💛
I’m so glad you’re here. Pull up a chair. 🫶🏼

... Read moreBurnout among moms is a common yet often unspoken struggle that affects mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being. From my own experience, balancing motherhood with personal identity can feel overwhelming, especially during life’s toughest seasons—job changes, health issues, pandemic stress, or the everyday demands of new motherhood. I found that embracing sacred rhythms and slow living practices helped ease the chaos. Taking intentional moments to breathe, pray, and savor small joys like Pilates sessions or a moment with a Dr. Pepper Zero, as lighthearted as that may sound, created space for restoration.
What true renewal brought me was the realization that the Christian life isn't solely marked by hardship but by God’s delight in us, echoed profoundly in Psalm 18:19. This perspective reshaped how I approached motherhood and self-care—not as duties to endure but as tender experiences to dwell in and delight over. Practicing soft wellness and romanticizing life became my ways to nurture my soul and family, even amid busy days.
If you’re navigating the burnout maze, know that small changes in daily habits and mindset shifts grounded in faith can be transformative. Join communities focusing on biblical motherhood and intentional living, where sharing stories and encouragement fosters belonging and strength. Remember, delighting in yourself and life isn’t selfish; it’s necessary. Be gentle with your heart, celebrate progress over perfection, and pull up a chair to rest—you’re not alone in this journey.
