get away from them immediately
From personal experience, I've found that the people we surround ourselves with can deeply influence our mental and emotional health. When you spend time around individuals who constantly focus on misfortune or drain your self-belief, it can feel exhausting and limit your potential. I learned that even if you’re starting at a ‘net negative’ place emotionally, choosing to uplift yourself instead of putting yourself down can make a significant difference. It’s important to remember that zero isn’t positive—it’s neutral or even slightly negative—so our goal should be to move into positive territory by embracing optimism and self-encouragement. For example, when someone says things like “I’m just so unlucky” or constantly points out their problems, it can pull you down too. At first, I felt guilty or responsible for cheering them up, but I realized that protecting my mental energy is crucial. By keeping a certain distance and focusing on supportive, empowering conversations, I could build my resilience. Also, switching your mindset to see setbacks as temporary rather than permanent helps. You don't have to accept a negative outlook just because someone else does. It’s about recognizing your worth and potential despite challenges. In my journey, creating this boundary helped me gain clarity and motivation. So, if you ever find yourself around draining negativity, remember: it’s okay to get away from them immediately and prioritize your well-being. That small step can open doors to a more positive, fulfilling life.
