Moments that made me realize I may have ADHD

I suspected I have ADHD since shortly after my daughter was born. But even though I thought I may have it, I kind of gaslit myself for a long time, telling myself I could just push through. It wasn't until I continued to have mental health struggles and employment issues that I decided to seek out diagnosis so I could get access to medication.

Looking back, these are three things that made me go, “Aha!”

What about you, do you have any of those aha moments yourself? Or if undiagnosed yourself, what questions do you have for me?

... Read moreMany individuals may not recognize ADHD in themselves until they experience significant life challenges. Common signs include chronic disorganization, forgetfulness, and struggling with prioritizing tasks. Reflecting on personal experiences can be essential for women in realizing their own ADHD signs, as they often go unrecognized. Understanding that it's not typical to misplace essential items like keys or wallets can serve as a wake-up call. Anecdotal evidence suggests that prior diagnoses in family members can illuminate the possibility of ADHD in oneself. It's crucial to seek professional evaluation when symptoms persist. Additionally, communities and support groups can provide invaluable resources for understanding ADHD and connecting with others who share similar experiences. Engaging with informative articles and videos can help demystify ADHD and encourage individuals to seek the help they may need. If you resonate with these experiences or have your own 'Aha' moments, sharing can lead to a supporting conversation about mental health challenges and strategies to navigate them. Don't hesitate to explore online forums dedicated to ADHD where shared stories can offer comfort and insight. Your experiences and those from others can create a pathway towards a better understanding of how ADHD affects daily life.
