Homemade Jasmine Syrup

Jasmine Syrup Recipe

Hi everyone!! This is definitely one of my all time favorite syrups, it’s light, floral, and so versatile. You can make it at home with just a few simple ingredients! Pair it with your favorite drinks like teas, milk teas, lemonade, cocktails, coffee, and (of course) my personal fave matcha! You have to try it !! 💚

I’ve updated my recipe to make it even clearer and easier to follow. Hope you love it as much as I do!

Ingredients:

• 1 cup water

• 1 cup granulated sugar or brown sugar

• 1 jasmine tea bag or 2 tablespoons dried jasmine flowers (food-grade)

or 1/4 cup fresh jasmine flowers (unsprayed, pesticide-free)

🫖 Instructions:

1. Heat water & sugar:

• In a small saucepan, combine the water and sugar.

• Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is fully dissolved.

• Remove the syrup from heat once it starts to simmer.

2. Steep the tea bag:

• don’t boil it after adding the tea.

• Add the jasmine tea bag (cut open so the tea is loose) and steep for 10 minutes. Or

• if using flowers, cover and let steep for 20–30 minutes (longer for a stronger flavor).

• Strain the tea and gently press it to extract extra flavor.

3. Add vanilla (optional):

• While the syrup is still warm, stir in vanilla extract (1/2 to 1 tsp). I added 1/4 tsp.

4. Cool and store:

• Let cool, pour into a bottle or jar, and refrigerate.

• Keeps for up to 3weeks in the fridge.

Notes:

• Rishi tea is typically green tea infused with jasmine, so the syrup will have subtle green tea notes but it’s still delicious and still taste like Jasmine.

• If you want pure floral jasmine without tea notes, you’d need dried jasmine flowers instead.
