GROCERY Haul Next
I absolutely hate meal prepping on the days I go grocery shopping. Tell me I’m not the only one!
I totally get how meal prepping on grocery shopping days can feel overwhelming. One trick that’s helped me is to plan simple meals that use similar ingredients, so you’re not juggling multiple recipes at once. For example, if you pick up chicken, vegetables, and rice, you can make several dishes like stir-fry, salads, or even wraps, spreading out your prep over a few days without feeling overloaded. Another helpful approach is to set a shorter, more manageable goal for meal prep right after shopping. Rather than prepping entire meals, I focus on chopping veggies or marinating proteins only, which cuts down prep time during the week but still feels productive. Also, investing in good-quality storage containers and labeling them clearly makes it easier to grab what you need without a major hassle later. I sometimes prep ingredients like quinoa or pasta in bulk and then mix with fresh items daily — a small step that saves big time. And don’t forget to treat yourself! On my shopping day, I like playing upbeat music or even taking short breaks to keep the mood light. Meal prepping doesn’t have to be a chore; with the right mindset and planning, it can become a simpler, even enjoyable routine.
