... Read morePhilly Cheesesteak Egg Rolls are a fantastic twist on the classic Philadelphia sandwich, combining all the savory goodness into a crispy, bite-sized treat. When I first tried making these, I found that choosing fresh, high-quality shaved ribeye really made a difference in flavor and texture. The balance of sautéed onions and colorful bell peppers adds a sweet and slightly crunchy element that complements the rich steak perfectly.
One of the things I love about this recipe is how versatile it is. You can easily experiment by adding mushrooms, different cheese types like provolone or mozzarella, or even a dash of hot sauce to customize the heat level. Using wonton wrappers makes the rolling process simple and results in a wonderfully crispy exterior when fried in peanut oil.
For best results, make sure the oil is at the correct temperature before frying to ensure a golden-brown crust and prevent the egg rolls from soaking up too much oil. After frying, let them cool slightly on paper towels to remove excess oil and enjoy them with your favorite dipping sauces—cheese sauce, ranch, or even a spicy sriracha mayo work beautifully.
Making Philly Cheesesteak Egg Rolls at home also gives you control over the ingredients, so you can tailor seasonings to your liking and avoid any preservatives or additives found in store-bought items. Plus, it’s a great way to impress friends and family at your next gathering with a fun, crowd-pleasing appetizer that packs all the flavorful punch of a cheesesteak in every bite.
