Sushi Bake!

Some people mentioned in a previous post that they don’t like raw fish! This sushi bake is super easy and DELICIOUS and guess what… cooked!!

Cook some rice on the side, throw a piece of salmon into the air fryer to cook for a bit. Take it out, mash it up with some spicy mayo salt and pepper and then layer your bowl with rice, salmon, rice salmon!

Make sure your bowl is airfry safe. We use a glass rubber ware. As it cooks one last time, chop up some cucumber and avocado on the side.

Get yourself some seaweed and dig in!!! Super easy dinner meal.

If you want a crispier rice bottom, you can even spray a little oil on the rice layer before adding the salmon. Now, for those of you asking about cheesy baked sushi – yes, you absolutely can make it cheesy! My favorite way to do this is to mix a tablespoon or two of softened cream cheese right into the mashed salmon and spicy mayo mixture. It adds an incredible creaminess and a subtle tang that takes it up a notch. Alternatively, you can sprinkle a little mozzarella or a mild cheddar on top during the last 5 minutes of air frying for a gooey, bubbly cheese pull. Trust me, it’s divine! When it comes to serving, the fun really begins! The whole point of a sushi bake is making those delightful sushi bake wraps. I always make sure to have plenty of roasted seaweed packages on hand – the crispy ones are the best for wrapping. Lay a piece of seaweed flat, add a generous scoop of your warm sushi bake, and then load it up with your favorite toppings. Besides the essential sliced cucumbers and creamy avocado, I love adding some fresh scallions or a sprinkle of furikake for extra flavor and crunch. And don't forget the extra drizzle of spicy mayo or a splash of hot sauce from a bottle, just like you'd get at your favorite sushi spot! What if you don't have an air fryer? No worries! You can absolutely make this in a conventional oven. Just bake it at 375°F (190°C) for about 20-25 minutes, or until it's heated through and the top is golden. The key is to get that lovely crust. For protein, while salmon is my go-to, you can totally experiment! Cooked crab meat (the imitation kind works great for a California roll vibe), cooked shrimp, or even canned tuna (drained well and mixed with mayo) are fantastic alternatives. The beauty of homemade sushi bake is that it's so customizable. Forget paying premium prices for baked sushi for sale when you can whip up something so delicious and fresh right in your own kitchen, exactly to your taste!
