Viral Sushi Bake 🍣
I have been craving sushi for a week straight. I bought some mid week, but it still didn’t satisfy my craving. But now I’ve finally recreated Alissa Nguyen’s viral sushi bake and it is TO DIE for 🔥
it is super easy and simply to follow, and it all comes together so beautifully (and under 30 mins)
**I’ve doubled her recipe so you can cut it in half for a smaller portion. My portion made the pan in the video and another (half) size of that**
Ingredients:
• 1lb salmon (i seasoned mine with salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder) but you can season however you’d like
• 1lb imitation crab (shredded into small pieces)
• 8 oz cream cheese (softened)
• 1/2 cup Japanese mayo
• 2 Tbsp Sriracha
• 6 cups cooked rice
• 4Tbsp rice vinegar (I didn’t have rice vinegar, so I’ve substituted it with apple cider vinegar)
• Furikake/shredded seaweed
Directions:
Season your salmon according to your preference. I’ve seasoned mind with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. You then want to air fry it at 400° for about 11 minutes. You definitely want to add minutes if your salmon is thicker.
After your salmon is cooked, remove the skin. Then shred your salmon along with your imitation crab.
You then want to add your cream cheese, Japanese, mayo, and Sriracha sauce. Mix it all together very well.
In a separate bowl, add your rice along with the rice vinegar. Mix that very well.
In your baking dish, pour your rice and flatten it to make an even surface layer
top your rice with your shredded seaweed or furikake (I used both)
Then top it with your salmon mixture and spread that evenly.
You then want to bake it in your oven at 380°F for about 10 minutes, and then on broil for 2-3 mins.
once you take it out of the oven, drizzle your layers of Sriracha sauce, spicy mayo(I used regular Japanese mayo bc I didn’t have spicy mayo. You can add more sriracha if you like it spicy), some sesame seeds, and then garnished with sliced green onions.
You can serve it wrapped in seaweed, or in a bowl as is
