... Read moreHey Gators! So glad you're curious about what a real day looks like juggling everything at UF. My 'Day in My Life' post gave you a peek, but honestly, managing all those different 'periods' of my day – from intense study sessions to fun club meetings – is a skill I'm always refining! If you're wondering how to make the most of your time here, let me share a few things I've learned that really help me thrive. First up, tackling those academic periods. My classes like English, Orgo, and Physiology definitely keep me on my toes. I've found that having a solid study setup, whether it's my cozy spot at home or a quiet corner in the library, makes a huge difference. I always have my laptop and a dedicated notebook for each subject. For Orgo, those chemistry formulas can be daunting, so breaking down my study into focused 'periods' of 45-60 minutes with short breaks in between is key. And honestly, a good coffee from my Mr. Coffee café barista machine in the morning is non-negotiable for kickstarting those early study periods! Then there are the campus and class periods. Walking to campus is my little moment of calm before the storm. It's when I mentally prepare for lectures or review my to-do list for the day. Making sure I'm dressed comfortably, like in my favorite knitted sweater and black faux leather pants (my go-to OOTD!), helps me feel ready for whatever the day throws at me. Being comfortable in class, whether we're discussing 'Why we travel' for English or diving deep into a new topic, helps me focus better. After classes, it's often about balancing further study with extracurriculars. Sometimes it's more studying at home, poring over my new copy of 'The Travel Writer's Way' for a literature class, or heading back to the library for group work. But just as important are the club meeting periods! The GATORS flag at our club meetings reminds me why I love being part of the UF community. It’s so easy to get lost in textbooks, but these social periods are vital for unwinding and connecting with friends. Lastly, don't forget the rest and refresh periods. My bed with its comfy white bedding and my Stitch plush is my sanctuary. After a long day of classes and studying, getting proper rest is crucial. And a little self-care, like putting on a spritz of my favorite Victoria's Secret Bombshell perfume or some lip gloss, just makes me feel a bit more put together, even if I'm just studying at home. It’s all about creating a routine that supports both your academic goals and your well-being. So, whether you're mapping out your study periods, planning your class schedule, or just trying to fit everything into your busy UF day, remember to be kind to yourself and find what works for *you*! Go Gators!
