DIML as a college student at USC

Today was what I consider to be one of my “busier” days. I had three classes and stopped to help out at the study abroad fair to talk about what an amazing time I had studying abroad in Ireland! But even though I had a jam packed schedule, it was such a lovely surprise to get some free goodie bags from Pink while we were walking back!! I love going to USC because there’s always stuff like that happening and I think it’s so fun!

Beyond the day-to-day classes, what really defines USC campus life are the endless opportunities and the stunning environment that surrounds you. One thing I quickly learned is the importance of a good routine, especially with a packed schedule. My mornings often start early, hitting the gym to beat the crowds and get in a good workout on the Precor stairmaster. It's such a great way to energize before diving into academics. Then, it's often off to the spacious university library. With its ornate ceilings and long study tables, it's not just a place to study, but also a beautiful space that makes you feel connected to the rich history of the university. Finding your go-to study spot, whether it’s a quiet corner in the library or a sunny bench with your laptop on a grassy lawn surrounded by those iconic palm trees, makes all the difference. Speaking of campus, the beauty of USC is something I never take for granted. Walking past the grand brick university buildings, flanked by manicured hedges and those signature swaying palm trees, always puts a smile on my face. It really feels like a movie scene sometimes! These picturesque spots aren't just for looking at; they're perfect for impromptu study sessions, catching up with friends on the grassy quad, or just enjoying a moment of calm between classes. Another aspect of USC student life I adore is the constant buzz of activity. Just like my experience at the study abroad fair, where we showcased Ireland with brochures and even some traditional food, there's always an event happening. One day it's a career fair, the next it's a wellness workshop, or even an unexpected fun event like the Pink pop-up truck handing out free goodie bags. These spontaneous moments truly add to the magic of being a student here. Getting involved, whether it's through clubs, volunteering, or even just attending campus events, is key to making the most of your time. And let's not forget about fuel! Balancing academics and a social life means you need good food. While dining halls are an option, I often enjoy preparing quick, healthy meals. Think easy avocado toast topped with sliced turkey, baby carrots, and cucumber with a side of cottage cheese for lunch. For dinner, a colorful bowl with chicken, pickled onions, roasted squash, and a tasty sauce is a go-to. Learning to whip up quick and nutritious meals helps keep energy levels up for all the busy days. For anyone considering USC, or for current students looking to dive deeper into campus life, my biggest advice is to explore everything. From the vibrant academic scene to the lively social events, and even just appreciating the beautiful campus with its endless palm trees – there's so much to discover. Every day truly offers a new adventure.

USC always looks so aesthetic, meanwhile, my community college is just... concrete. But cheaper tho
