🎄 Festive Pavlova Wreath 🎄
A delicate, light meringue wreath topped with creamy whipped goodness, vibrant berries, and fresh mint—a show-stopping dessert for holiday celebrations!
Ingredients
For the Pavlova:
4 large egg whites, room temperature
1 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon white vinegar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon cornstarch, for stability
For the Toppings:
1½ cups heavy whipping cream, chilled
2 tablespoons powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup mixed fresh berries (strawberries, raspberries, blueberries)
¼ cup pomegranate seeds, for festive sparkle
Fresh mint leaves, for garnish
Instructions
Prepare the Pavlova:
Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and trace a 10-inch circle with a 6-inch circle inside to guide the wreath shape.
In a clean, dry bowl, beat the egg whites on medium speed until soft peaks form. Gradually add the sugar, 1 tablespoon at a time, beating on high speed until stiff, glossy peaks form.
Gently fold in the vinegar, vanilla extract, and cornstarch until well combined.
Shape and Bake:
Spoon the meringue onto the parchment, shaping it into a wreath using your guide. Use the back of a spoon to create swirls and peaks for added texture.
Bake for 60 minutes, then turn off the oven and leave the pavlova inside to cool completely, about 1–2 hours.
Whip the Cream:
In a chilled bowl, whip the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until soft peaks form.
Assemble the Wreath:
Carefully transfer the cooled pavlova to a serving plate. Spoon the whipped cream evenly over the meringue.
Arrange the berries and pomegranate seeds on top. Garnish with fresh mint leaves for a festive touch.
Serve:
Serve immediately or chill for up to 2 hours before serving.
The Pavlova Wreath is not only a visual feast but also a deliciously light dessert that represents the spirit of celebration. It's essential to use room temperature egg whites for perfect meringue, which should be beaten until stiff peaks form. Incorporating cornstarch and vinegar adds stability to the meringue, ensuring it holds its shape while baking. Once baked, the meringue should cool slowly in the oven to prevent cracking, resulting in a soft center and crisp exterior. For toppings, a mix of berries adds a vibrant color and burst of flavor, while pomegranate seeds provide a festive sparkle. Additionally, fresh mint leaves can be used to enhance the wreath's appearance and bring a refreshing taste. This dessert is versatile and can easily be customized with seasonal fruits such as peaches, cherries, or kiwis depending on availability. Offering a gluten-free option, the Pavlova wreath satisfies various dietary preferences. Impress your friends and family during the holidays by serving this striking dessert at your festive gatherings and make sure to share your creations using hashtags like #holidaydesserts and #lemon8christmas!
