Frost's Only Believer (💥x🫵🏼) Oneshot

It was a cold December night, and the snowflakes tumbled lazily from the sky. You stood alone at the edge of the frozen lake, watching the moonlight reflect off the ice. It was peaceful, but your heart ached. No one believed you when you told them about him. About Bakugou, the wild-haired boy with the sharp tongue and a mischievous grin who controlled the frost. He was real, even if the world refused to see him.

"Oi, you're spacing out again," a familiar gruff voice snapped behind you.

You turned, a smile breaking across your face. "Bakugou. You're late."

"Yeah, yeah," he muttered, brushing some snow from his shoulders. His crimson eyes glinted as he crossed his arms. "Not like I had a choice. That damn Ashido wouldn't shut up about her latest tooth collection."

You chuckled. "She's the Tooth Fairy, Bakugou, it's kind of her job."

"Doesn't mean she has to brag about it," he grumbled, kicking at the snow. "Anyway, what're you doing all the way out here? It's freezing."

"You're the one who made it this cold," you teased, nudging him with your elbow.

Bakugou smirked. "Tch. Like you'd complain. You're always hanging around in the snow just to see me."

Your cheeks flushed at his remark, but you didn't deny it. "Well, someone has to keep you company since no one else can see you."

The smile fell from his face, replaced by a flicker of vulnerability. "Yeah, well... you're the only one who still believes in me."

"Of course I do," you said softly, stepping closer. "You're not just some story, Bakugou. You're real to me."

His eyes widened slightly, and for a moment, the cocky facade he always wore cracked. He glanced away, a faint blush dusting his cheeks. "You're such a damn sap."

"And you're such a grump," you shot back, grinning.

Before he could respond, a loud, boisterous voice echoed through the forest. "HO HO HO! Little Katsuki, are you slacking off again?"

You both turned to see Kirishima approaching, his massive frame clad in a red coat trimmed with white fur. He carried a sack slung over one shoulder, and his bright smile was almost blinding.

"I'm not slacking, you walking Christmas ornament!" Bakugou snapped.

"Sure, sure," Kirishima said, chuckling. "Oh, and hello there, little believer! Keeping our Jack Frost in line, are you?"

"I'm trying," you replied with a laugh.

Kirishima leaned down and winked. "Good. He's lucky to have you."

"Shut it, Shitty Hair!" Bakugou growled, his ears turning red.

"Fine, fine. I'll leave you two alone," Kirishima said, waving as he walked off. "Just remember, the big moon's always watching, Katsuki!"

Once he was gone, Bakugou groaned, dragging a hand through his messy hair. "That idiot never knows when to quit."

"He's not wrong, though," you said, your voice softer now. "You are lucky."

Bakugou glanced at you, his expression unreadable. Then, with a huff, he stepped closer, the tips of his boots brushing against yours. "You're the lucky one, idiot. Not everyone gets to hang out with someone as awesome as me."

You rolled your eyes. "Sure, Bakugou. You're totally the humble, selfless hero of this story."

"Damn right I am," he said, though his voice was softer than usual. He hesitated before adding, "Thanks though. For believing in me." His voice whispered.

"Always." You whispered back.

The two of you stood there in the snow, the world silent except for the sound of your breaths mingling in the frosty air. For once, Bakugou didn't try to hide the small, genuine smile that tugged at his lips.

The quiet was comforting, broken only by the occasional rustle of wind through the trees. You shivered slightly, the cold finally cutting through your few layers that you lazily threw on. Without a word, Bakugou noticed and scowled, shrugging off his jacket. He tossed it at you with an exasperated sigh.

"Put this on before you freeze to death, dumbass."

You caught it, surprised. "But won't you-?"

"I'm literally Jack Frost," he interrupted, rolling his eyes. "You think I'm gonna get cold?"

Smiling, you slipped the jacket on. It smelled like winter and something distinctly Bakugou-sharp and warm all at once. "Thanks," you said, pulling it tighter around you.

"Whatever," he muttered, kicking at the snow again, but you noticed the faint redness on his cheeks.

The silence stretched again, not uncomfortable but charged with something unsaid. You glanced at him, taking in the way his sharp features softened in the moonlight. You'd known him for so long now-long enough to understand that beneath all the bluster and bravado was someone who cared deeply, even if he didn't know how to show it.

"Hey, Bakugou?" You said quietly.

"What now?" He replied, looking at you out of the corner of his eye.

"I was just wondering... do you ever wish people believed in you again?"

His expression darkened, and for a moment, you worried you'd overstepped. But instead of snapping at you, he sighed and turned his gaze to the frozen lake.

"I used to," he admitted. "Back when I first started this whole frost thing. It pissed me off that no one could see me, that they all just... forgot. Like I didn't matter." He clenched his fists, his breath visible in the cold. "But then I realized it's not about all of them. It's about the ones who do believe. Even if it's just one person."

Your heart ached at his words, but before you could respond, he turned to face you fully. His crimson eyes burned with intensity, and you felt rooted to the spot under his gaze.

"That's why I don't care about the rest of them," he said firmly. "Because you believe in me. And... that's enough."

Your breath caught, and for a moment, all you could do was stare at him. His words hung in the air, raw and unfiltered. You opened your mouth to speak, but before you could find the words, a snowball smacked into the side of your face.

"Gotcha!" Bakugou said, smirking triumphantly.

"Bakugou!" you yelped, wiping the snow off your cheek. "You're such a jerk!"

"Yeah? What're you gonna do about it?" he taunted, already forming another snowball in his hand.

"Oh, it's on!" you declared, scooping up some snow and hurling it at him.

He dodged easily, laughing as he retaliated. The quiet night erupted into chaos as the two of you launched snowballs at each other, your laughter mingling with the crunch of snow underfoot. For a moment, you forgot about everything else-the cold, the loneliness, the disbelief of others. It was just you and Bakugou, caught in a fleeting moment of joy.

Eventually, you collapsed onto the ground, breathless and laughing. Bakugou flopped down beside you, his cheeks flushed from exertion.

"You're terrible at aiming," he teased, grinning.

"And you're insufferable," you shot back, but your tone was light.

He chuckled, leaning back on his elbows to look up at the sky. The stars glittered above, their light reflecting in his eyes. "You know," he said after a while, his voice softer, "I never thought I'd say this, but... I'm glad you're here."

Your chest tightened at his words. "Bakugou..."

"Don't make a big deal out of it," he warned, glaring at you, though there was no real heat behind it. "Just... don't leave, alright?"

"I won't," you promised, your voice steady. "I'm not going anywhere."

He turned to look at you, his expression unreadable. Slowly, he reached out, brushing a strand of hair from your face. His touch was surprisingly gentle, and your breath hitched.

"You're really something, you know that?" he muttered, almost to himself.

Before you could respond, he leaned closer, his face inches from yours. For a moment, time seemed to stop. Then, with a sharp exhale, he pulled back and flopped onto his back.

"Forget it," he said quickly, his face a brilliant shade of red. "It's freezing out here. We should head back."

You blinked, still processing what had just happened. But as you looked at him lying in the snow, his expression flustered but stubborn, you couldn't help but smile.

"Alright, let's go," you said, standing and offering him a hand.

He took it, his grip firm and warm despite the cold. As the two of you walked back toward the lights of the town, you couldn't help but glance at him, your heart full. Maybe the rest of the world couldn't see him, but to you, Bakugou was more real than anything else. And you'd believe in him forever.
