Wegovy + a fitness plan did this 🫢

So I’ve been on Wegovy for over a month now and I’m officially down 20 pounds. I must also include 3 Tips that helped me get here:

1. Exercised at least 3 times a week (the workouts my trainer gave me)

2. Followed my meal plan MOST of the days. I did “fall off” a few times but I got right back to it like nothing happened THE NEXT MEAL. I never took the whole day.

3. Listened to my body! Wegovy really suppresses your appetite so you have to remember to give your body what it needs! Protein, breakfast (I need my breakfast- some ppl don’t), plenty of veggies, small treats for any cravings that came up, and plenty of LOVE. Be kind to your body in this process. It’s learning so much that differs from previous patterns so be gracious with you.

Lastly, follow ppl on your same journey to stay inspired and keep yourself inspired with words and images. Here are some quotes that I kept in my spirit and even on sticky notes:

“Do the next best thing.”

“This stage requires discipline.”

“My body deserves to feel good.”

It wasn't just about 'exercising at least 3 times a week'; it was about consistency and finding workouts I could stick with. My trainer helped me focus on strength training which not only burns calories but also reshapes your body, making those 'before and after pictures' even more impactful. Even on days I didn't feel like hitting the gym, a brisk walk or some at-home bodyweight exercises kept the momentum going. This consistent movement, even beyond the gym, was crucial for my 'female waist slimming progress comparison' photos. Secondly, nutrition is paramount. 'Following my meal plan MOST of the days' sounds simple, but it required conscious effort. Wegovy significantly reduced my appetite, which was great, but it also meant I had to be smart about what I did eat. Prioritizing lean protein at every meal (think chicken, fish, eggs, Greek yogurt) helped me feel full and supported muscle maintenance. I also made sure to include plenty of fibrous vegetables and healthy fats. And yes, those 'small treats for any cravings' were essential for sustainability – complete deprivation often leads to giving up entirely. Instead of seeing it as a diet, I viewed it as fueling my body for its 'transformation journey.' Perhaps the most underrated tip is 'listening to my body.' This goes beyond just appetite suppression. It means recognizing when you're genuinely hungry versus just bored, and understanding that some days you might need more rest, and other days you might have more energy for a challenging workout. Hydration is also key; sometimes thirst can masquerade as hunger. Being kind to myself and accepting that plateaus or off-days are part of the process prevented me from derailing completely. If I had an indulgent meal, I didn't dwell on it; I focused on making the next meal a healthy one, just as suggested. This mental resilience is vital for any 'weight loss progress.' Finally, for those wanting to track their 'before and after' journey effectively, don't just rely on the scale. Take progress photos – front, side, and back – at the same time of day, in similar clothing, every few weeks. My photos from 'September 22, 2024' to 'October 20, 2024' really showed the visual changes, which the scale alone couldn't capture. Measurements of your waist, hips, and arms can also tell a powerful story. Seeing your clothes fit differently is another huge non-scale victory. These visual and tangible indicators of change are incredibly motivating and truly bring your 'wegovy transformation' to life.
