Word of the year!!

Have you chosen your word of the year yet? It's okay if you haven't. Do some research on how to choose your word and what it means. Mine is prayer because I want prayer to be in all of my decisions and actions. What's your word and why?

... Read moreChoosing a word of the year can be a transformative practice, helping you maintain focus and intention throughout the months ahead. I started choosing my word a few years ago, and it’s become a meaningful way to keep myself grounded and motivated. For example, this year, I chose "prayer" as my word because it reminds me to stay mindful and centered in all decisions I make. When selecting your word, start by reflecting on what qualities or themes you want to nurture in your life. It’s helpful to look around you and notice words or ideas that keep recurring—sometimes inspiration finds you when you least expect it. Don’t overthink it; sometimes the best words come naturally when you’re open. There are literally hundreds of inspiring options to consider, such as "growth," "peace," "courage," "balance," or "gratitude." Make a list and then see which word truly resonates with your current life needs and ambitions. Your word can be an anchor to help you through challenges and a celebration of your progress and values. Another thing I’ve found useful is to write down what my word means to me and how I plan to embody it. For "prayer," it means intentionally pausing daily to reflect and seek guidance, which helps me stay aligned with my deeper purpose. Lastly, consider sharing your word with friends or family or joining online communities focused on this yearly practice. It can turn into a supportive journey as you encourage and inspire each other. Choosing a word of the year is not about perfection but about personal growth and insight. Your word serves as a compass for living more deliberately—make it meaningful and have fun with it!
