Word of the year

Every new year at work we get to choose a word that we want to live by for the year. Last year I chose self. I’m always constantly worrying about everybody else but ME. I took that trip, I got my nails done, I bought what I wanted, I focused on me.

This year my word is NO

I give so much to everybody else without a second thought and it’s mostly never reciprocated.

Next year the answer is no unless I want to 🙃

And I’m not feeling guilty about it

... Read moreChoosing a word of the year can be a powerful practice that sets the tone for personal growth and self-improvement. The focus on the word 'NO' reflects a deep understanding of establishing boundaries and prioritizing one's own needs. Many individuals face the challenge of overextending themselves, often leaving their own needs unmet. By consciously selecting 'NO' for the year, you not only affirm your right to prioritize your well-being, but you also encourage others to respect your choices. Incorporating the word of the year into daily practice can lead to significant changes. This concept is not just about declining requests; it’s about embracing self-care and making room for what truly matters in your life. Reflect on your personal goals and values as you apply this word throughout the year, and notice how it resonates in various areas ranging from professional settings to personal relationships. Ultimately, selecting a word of the year gives you a guidepost to navigate your decisions and create a fulfilling year ahead.
